Our take on a racer jacket in veg-tan reverse horse culatta with .925 silver staples.
The J03 jacket features raw-edged hems, a floating lining and raw zip welts. It has 2 waist zip pockets, an internal chest zip pockets, zip cuffs and a band collar.
The staples have irregular edges, randomised sizes and some are fused. They’ve been aged in sulphur and the back features a silver Eigengrau icon. The non-stapled seams are top-stitched by hand. Scars in the hide have been visibly-mended using staples and thread.
Culatta leather is a form of horse butt cut in a manner to expose the embedded cordovan underneath. Cordovan, unlike other leathers, is subdermal so it is exposed on the flesh side hence why our culatta jackets use the reverse. Our culatta is 1.6mm thick and washed to soften and distort the hide.
